Social Network for older women

During my studying of UX/UI we had been asked to create a website to answer a need that hasn’t been met yet. I’ve thought of a website for women only from the age of 60+ that enables them to find a friend near their home, while also considering hobbies and languages. They can communicate via texting, calling and ultimately, they can meet up in person. After extensively researching the internet, I found some interesting facts about our older generation:
  • Senior people don’t use the computer that often.
  • Women are more likely to live alone than men.
  • More than 40% of the Israeli elderly population suffers from loneliness.
  • American research proves that having good friends affects our health for the better.
  • Social connections reduce the chance to get various illnesses, helps our heart rate, and helps control blood pressure and cholesterol values.
To back up these claims while researching I came across many women looking for female friends on social media.

In essence the website should be simple, coherent, and accessible.

The profile should have an image, minimal personal information like age, hobbies, and the city the live in. By filtering age and location, the women have an easy way to connect with the ones they choose.
